They all love to eat, despite the fact we like to complain about putting on the weight, it has never stop us from going out for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, dessert and the occasional bars for a drink. There is always someone that is up for some food adventures and really they are definitely the best type of people ever.
The other night we went to Sushi Tei at Chifley Square in Sydney. Apparently, their Liverpool Street one had permanently closed down. I haven't been to the one at Chifley Square before so it was all exciting and really I just can't say no to Japanese food. I have what people will call an "obsessive-love" with Japan. There's something about Japan itself that renders me, a love sick fool.
Still, that's a story for another time.
Sukiyaki, one of my very favourite Japanese dishes. It's pretty much a hot pot served in the Japanese style.

Wagyu, thinly sliced beef that you 'dip' in the sukiyaki, in which you then dip it into the bowl of raw egg as sauce. My mouth is watering, just thinking about how good it had tasted. I will definitely be going back to have this again.

Of course, just a sukiyaki is just not enough to share between 2 girls starving. So we ordered a couple of sides too.
Ikura Chawanmushi, egg custard with salmon roe. Guilty pleasure. There's nothing quite like the way the salmon roe pops and then melts in your mouth.

Cheese Tsukune, at first glance it probably looks a lot like a slice of cheese on top of some takoyaki. However, tsukune is actually grilled chicken meatball.

Chicken Wing Gyoza, where the gyoza fillings is stuff inside the chicken wings. I have to say, I got distracted with how good the sukiyaki was that, we kind of left this go a little cold. I can only imagine how good it would of tasted while it was still hot.

Gyuniku Roll, beef wrapped enoki mushrooms. Another dish that we let get cold because we got busy chatting away. I did find it a little too sweet for me, could be that leaving it there for so long, it had absorb too much of the sauce. Still, the idea of a good meal is most importantly spend with good company.

I really enjoy the ambience of this place, from where I sat, I could see they have these really cute private booths that I wouldn't mind going back with some more friends to enjoy. We get to a point in our lives that it's no longer about just the food and where, but also the people you spend your time with.
Eating out like this, I'm really grateful to have the friends that I do now.
Remember that even though our lives get busy, and people come and go.. it makes it that much more important to spend as much time as you can with them. The time spent with the people who currently makes you happy is never a waste because they become the best kind of memories.

Great post. Can't wait to see what else you eat.
