I HAVEN'T BEEN EVERYWHERE, BUT IT'S ON MY LIST - SUSAN SONTAG.

It was a spur of a moment adventure.

My friend had send me a link on Whatsapp telling me about the special travel deals and in a moment of a second we agreed to go. Thus, starts the planning. To be honest I'm not much of a planner when it comes to holidays and adventures. I've always been more pick a place, go travel and see where I end up. Too much planning creates disappointment and stress when not met. Surprisingly, I like the idea of getting lost in a foreign country where I go exploring.

Anyway, as we were going to Bali for the first time ever, I thought it would be safer to had my luggage wrapped.. it is afterall a death sentence over there if you are caught carrying suspicous items. When one hears about such things it's best to be safe. Hence, my little red suitcase looked like it's all wrapped up for a slimming spa treatment. I can't remember how much it cost me to get it wrapped at the airport but the peace of mind it gave me was worth it.

I can't believe how much flying I did in 2016. From HK - Brisbane - Bali and a couple of road trips. It really did feel like 2016 was a year full of adventures. One thing I love about flying these days are the movie and drama selections. As we were going to Bali we flew - Garuda Indonesia and I couldn't believe my eyes that 'If Cats Disappeared from the World' was showing on my flight! It's definitely an art film that had moments you can't help but get teary eyed.. or maybe that was just me.

Airplane food. Can't really complain when they are getting yummier these days. Plus they have the Weis' mango. I ended up eating both since my friend didn't want hers.

We stayed at Samabe Bali Resort and it was amazing! My friend had bought these accomodation coupons that meant, once we arrived we got complimentary massage vouchers and meal vouchers. For the first night we went for a feast though very quickly we realised that due to the heat we lost our appetite very quickly. Still the place was beautiful and it was really nice to just slow down.

ONE CANNOT THINK WELL, LOVE WELL, SLEEP WELL, IF ONE HAS NOT DINED WELL - VIRGINIA WOOLF.

I had pre-booked a nice Japanese restaurant called SONO weeks before my flight to Brisbane. My friend had highly recommended the place and it was a good thing that I did making bookings in advance because the place was completely packed.

One of my favourite Japanese dishes has to be the Miso Cod Fish. Just thinking about it is making me drool.. It is without a doubt the one dish I will definitely order if I see it on the menu, each and every time I go to a Japanese restaurant. Sono actually does a pretty good job at this dish! Definitely drool worthy!

My friends had the Teriyaki Salmon and the Grilled Fish, oh and Udon. These were obviously a while back - September 2016. So I don't remember much but the fact that I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and it's a place I will go again.

We ended up at The Three Monkeys for desserts to end out night. This place is really nice with a touch of mediterranean feel to is decor. The cake selection.. as you can see goes on forever. A word of advice - be prepared to stand drooling at the arrange of cakes and lose one's ability to make a decision.

MIRROR MIRROR ON THE WALL.. - SNOW WHITE.

Oh wow...

Just realised that its been months since I last posted. My bad. I've been extremely busy and preoccupied with finding places to go and eat. Going through my phone I notice that there are a lot of photos of places that I've been to but have not had the chance to upload.

I guess it's because of my Bali trip. Once back I got swept up in the need to catch up with friends and what's not. Yup got totally sidetracked.

Anyway so much to talk about in the missing couple of months. Actually before I went to Bali, I flew up to Brisbane for a weekend to go watch a ballet performance of Snow White. The costume was all from John Paul Gauliter, for anyone not knowing who this absolutely talented genius just think of Madonna's iconic cone bra! Yup! the designer is him! Anyway, I went up for some much needed relax time and because I really want to see this. Another reason I wanted to go because I have friends and family in Brisbane and even though this time I stayed at a friend's place, I can say she is someone I truly admire.

My essentials for the plane. Coffee, book, DS and my wallet, fitting perfectly in my Burberry shoulder bag.

Oh, right! I got lost in the performance hall of QPAC!! It was so confusing to find our door entrance. Anyway as you can see we had pretty good seats smack down in the middle of the hall. Have to say contemporary ballet is interesting and leaves a lot of room for interpretation which in a way does causes confusion.

By the way, I went with a Snow White inspired makeup for my trip.
